1. Two Ways to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Event Trekker account either from inside the app (the fastest route, available to you at any time) or by emailing us to do it for you. Both routes run the same deletion flow and honour the same timelines described in §4.
Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app (recommended)
- Open the Event Trekker app and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation screen, which summarises what will be removed and when.
- Confirm the request. Your account is immediately soft-deleted — you are signed out and your account and data are hidden from the app and from other members straight away.
This is a self-serve right-to-erasure flow — no email, no waiting for us to act. You do not need to contact support to delete your account.
Option 2 — Ask us to delete it for you (email fallback)
If you cannot access your account — for example you have lost access to your sign-in email or the device — email us and we will run the same deletion flow on your behalf:
- Email: support@neuralnestsolutions.com with the subject line "Delete my Event Trekker account".
- Send the request from, or tell us, the email address on the account so we can verify you own it. We may ask one or two additional questions to confirm your identity before we act — this protects you from someone else deleting your account.
We acknowledge every verified deletion request and complete it within the timelines in §4.
2. What Gets Deleted
When your deletion completes, we permanently erase the personal data we hold about you. This includes:
- Your account and profile — email address, display name, username handle, locale and time-zone preference, and your hashed password or social-sign-in (Google / Apple) link.
- Your trips and timelines — every event you created (name, dates, destination, your role) and every activity on its timeline (flights, trains, hotels, attractions, cruises, local cabs, ticket-collection windows).
- Tickets, vouchers and QR files you uploaded — the PDFs, QR codes and voucher images attached to your activities, erased from our object storage along with their device-tied encryption.
- Your expenses — amounts, currencies, captured FX-rate snapshots, payer records and your split allocations.
- Your packing and to-do lists — pre-trip and during-trip checklists you created.
- Your travel-circle memberships — your membership of any Organizer (travel circle) is removed, along with the invites tied to you (see §5 for what happens to trips shared with others).
- AI-generated content tied to you — AI-drafted timelines and activities you saved, and your AI-assistance consent record.
- Your preferences and consents — push-notification settings, crash-report opt-in, and any other in-app preferences.
Note on how the app already treats your data. Event Trekker does not collect biometric data, does not track your precise GPS, does not collect payment-card data (there are no in-app payments), and does not collect advertising identifiers. So there is no ad-profile or card-on-file to delete — there never was one. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture of what we do and do not collect.
3. What We May Retain, and Why
We erase your personal content, but a small amount of data is retained for a limited time where the law, or our security and integrity obligations, require it. This is standard, it is minimised, and it does not include your trip content after purge.
- Security audit log — retained, but stripped of content. We keep an append-only (WORM) audit record of security-relevant actions such as logins, attachment uploads, AI-assistance consents and account deletions. These entries retain only metadata required by our ISO 27001-style controls (a timestamp, the action verb, and an anonymised user-id hash). They contain no substantive trip content after your data is purged. The audit log is retained for 1 year (and, where a specific entry is legally required to be kept, for as long as that obligation lasts).
- Encrypted backups — until they age out. We take daily encrypted backups and retain each for 35 days. A deleted account that already landed in a backup snapshot is purged when that snapshot ages out and is deleted; we do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
- Operational logs — short-lived. Application logs are retained for 90 days; on production, IP addresses are redacted after 30 days.
- Fraud, abuse and legal-obligation records. If there is an active fraud, abuse, security or legal-dispute investigation involving your account, or a specific legal or financial obligation to retain certain records, we may keep the minimum data necessary to meet that obligation for as long as it applies, and then erase it. Event Trekker does not process payments, so we do not hold financial or billing records of card transactions.
None of the above is used to rebuild your profile or your trips. It exists only to keep the service secure, to meet our legal obligations, and to protect all users from abuse.
4. Grace Period & Deletion Timeline
Deletion happens in two stages: an immediate soft-delete with a grace window, then a permanent hard-purge. These windows match our Privacy Policy §7 and are set to satisfy both the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP).
Stage 1 — Soft-delete (immediate)
The moment you confirm deletion (in-app or via our email fallback), your account is hidden from the app and from other members, and you are signed out. During a 30-day grace window you can change your mind and restore the account, exactly as it was. This protects you against accidental or impulsive deletion.
Stage 2 — Hard-purge (permanent)
After the 30-day grace window expires, the hard-purge job runs and permanently erases all your personal data — including your uploaded attachments — within 72 hours. Once hard-purge completes, the deletion is irreversible; we cannot recover the account or its data.
How this meets the statutory windows
- GDPR / UK GDPR (30-day default). The full erasure completes well within a calendar month of your request, in line with the GDPR one-month response window for a right-to-erasure request.
- India DPDP (≤ 7-day statutory route where applicable). If you want your personal data erased faster than the 30-day grace window — including under the shorter DPDP timeframe — you can waive the grace period: choose "delete now / skip the grace period" on the in-app confirmation, or ask us in your email request. We will then expedite the hard-purge so that erasure completes within the applicable statutory window (and in any case within 7 days where DPDP applies). We may need to keep the limited records described in §3 where the law separately requires it.
5. What Happens to Shared Trips & Travel Circles
Event Trekker lets you plan trips together with other people in a shared group — an Organizer, or travel circle. When you delete your account, we honour a clear boundary between your data and data that belongs to the group as a whole:
- Your membership is removed. You are taken out of every travel circle you belonged to, and other members will no longer see you listed.
- Content you personally created is erased with your account — the activities, expenses, checklists and attachments you added are deleted on the same timeline as the rest of your data (§4).
- A shared trip that other members still belong to is not destroyed. If you organised or contributed to a trip that others are still using, the trip itself remains for the remaining members so their plans are not wiped out. Where a shared item must show who added it, your contribution is disassociated from your identity (attributed to a removed member) rather than exposing your deleted profile.
- If you were the only member, the travel circle and its trips are deleted entirely along with your account.
In short: deleting your account removes you and your personal data, but it does not delete other people's copies of a trip you all planned together. Each travel circle is walled off from every other one by default (see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy §6).
6. Want a Copy First? Export Before You Delete
Deletion is permanent once the grace window closes, so if you want to keep a record of your trips, export your data before you delete. In the app, use Settings → Privacy → My data → Export my data to download a machine-readable JSON bundle plus a PDF of each of your trips. You can re-import the JSON into a future version of Event Trekker or take it to another service. See Privacy Policy §8 for your full data rights.
7. Confirmation & Checking Status
- In-app deletion. As soon as you confirm, you are signed out and the account is soft-deleted immediately — that sign-out is your confirmation that the request was accepted. If you signed in again during the 30-day window and no longer see your account restored, it means the grace window has passed and the account has been purged.
- Email deletion. We reply to acknowledge your verified request and again to confirm once the deletion flow has been started on your account.
- Checking status or if something looks wrong. Email support@neuralnestsolutions.com at any point and we will tell you where your request stands.
8. Your Legal Rights
Deleting your account is one way you exercise your right to erasure — the "right to be forgotten" under GDPR Article 17 and the right to erasure of personal data under DPDP §12(3). You also have related rights (access, correction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent) which are described in full, with how to exercise each, in our Privacy Policy §8.
NeuralNest Solutions (NNS) is the data controller (and, under DPDP, the Data Fiduciary) responsible for your personal data. Indian users can raise a grievance under the DPDP Act, and EU/UK users can lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority — details are in Privacy Policy §13. We would always appreciate the chance to resolve any issue with you directly first.

Acknowledgment
By deleting your Event Trekker account you acknowledge that you have read and understood this page, including the immediate soft-delete, the 30-day grace window during which you may restore your account, the permanent hard-purge that follows, the limited data we retain where legally required, and the boundary that applies to trips shared with a travel circle. Once hard-purge completes, deletion is irreversible.
